GMA sponsors several awards throughout the year to recognize excellence and achievement in our community. We encourage you to nominate an appropriate person for one of these awards.

The Small Business Retailer of the Year Award is selected by the Business Support Council and chosen from nominations that come from all over the community. Nominations for the Retailer of the Year are solicited from Chamber and GMA member firms, as well as the community at-large.

The nomination deadline is in late spring.

The Arts in Business Award honors businesses and organizations in the Greensboro area for their leadership, commitment and vision to provide outstanding support for the arts. The Arts include the performing arts (including music, theater and dance), literary art (including poetry fiction, playwriting, etc.) and visual arts (including sculpture, architecture, painting, etc.). The award is presented by the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, the Guilford Merchants Association and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. The recipient is recognized at the Annual Small Business Awards Luncheon during the Piedmont Triad Business Showcase in May.

GMA Police & Citizens Appreciation Awards: As part of National Peace Officers GMA presents several awards to recognizing outstanding efforts in Crime Prevention.

• GMA Distinguished Service Award presented to a law enforcement officer.
• GMA Business and Industry Crime Prevention Service Award presented to an individual law enforcement officer
• Excellence in Crime Prime prevention given to a local business
